About me
Hi, I’m Emily, a practicing artist based in south east Essex, UK. I have been a professional Artist for over 20 years. After gaining a BA(Hons) degree in Fine Art at De Montfort University, I’ve sold my paintings through London-based galleries and at art fairs all over the world. To share my love of Art and pass on the skills and knowledge I’ve developed over the years, I gained a postgraduate qualification and taught Art to all ages in schools and to adults at evening classes. Nowadays I’ve over 5 years experience painting live at events full time.
I’ve always loved painting people and trying to convey their personality in a likeness. At De Montfort I practiced a more Abstract Expressionist style of painting, exploring the possibilities of shape and colour. Teaching required me to broaden my repertoire of subject matter and technique, which has helped me to develop a well-rounded style that can be applied to landscapes as well as figures; just what's needed for painting celebrations!
As an artist, live painting is a wonderful way to fully immerse myself in a scene and translate the atmosphere. With a passion for painting and a well-polished practice, I will bring an extra special element to your day by immortalising it in a unique and original work of art.
