Lizzie and Coner

Norfolk’s close to my heart, I’ve so many wonderful memories around its beautiful countryside, so I was thrilled to be invited to paint this wonderful wedding at Hautbois Hall. The Elizabethan country house made a beautiful backdrop for this romantic scene of the happy couple stepping out.

I try to paint people’s characters in their portraits, which is why I encourage a video consultation prior to the wedding. Lizzie’s such a happy soul, even in the reference photos I took later on in the day for her tattoos, she’s grinning from ear to ear! Similarly I’ve painted Conor looking adoringly at Lizzie.

I take the opportunity, during our consultation, to enquire if my clients want any personal touches to their painting. For instance, their three cats amongst the scene - can you spot them?
