Simran and Wasim
Simran and Wasim had a luxurious wedding reception at Knightsbridge’s Bvlgari Hotel. Their romantic ceremony was just stunning, accompanied by beautiful melodies from the amazingly talented Bhav (Piano with Bhav). Their painting was gifted to them by a dear, generous friend. I loved painting the lace over Simran’s beautiful gown and Wasim’s jaunty stance - about which his school friends said I’d captured a good likeness.
My own friends may know that I’ve a phobia of velvet, however I quite like the way I’ve painted the texture of the velvet curtain backdrop I decided later to add the chandelier in the curved ceiling recess and spotlights, as feel these benefit the composition by showing the grandiosity of the venue, plus I loved the way the chandelier threw warm light over the cool plaster above.
As usual, I painted around the canvas’s deep edge, so it can hang on the wall as a £D object, with no need for framing.
